The Putnam Gastroenterology Center provides state-of-the-art evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. Our four office locations in Putnam, Westchester and lower Duchess Counties are complemented by our new diagnostic facility, the Endoscopy Center of New York in Carmel, which is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). We accommodate same day office visits for urgent problems and are on call for emergency care for our patients 24 hours a day. Dr. Michael Kushner is a native New Yorker who received his medical degree at Downstate Medical School in 1990. He completed his medical internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center, followed by serving as an emergency room physician at the facility for one year. His GI/Liver Disease fellowship was served at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he remained on staff as a teaching faculty member before entering private practice in 1997.
Dr. Sunil Gupta is a board certified specialist in gastroenterology with more than 20 years of experience in medicine and GI healthcare. He received his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India. Following graduation, Dr. Gupta completed his residency and performed medical practice in England and later obtained his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Throughout his career he has performed more than 25,000 endoscopic procedures and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of GI diseases including GERD, ulcers, rectal bleeding, hemorrhoids, colitis, diverticulosis, polyps, GI cancers, liver and pancreatic diseases.
Dr. Lizabeth Fiedler, MD is board certified in Gastroenterology. She received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1990, followed by a residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital, and later completed her fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Fiedler has since been in practice for 20 years. Her clinical expertise includes all conditions of gastroenterology with specific interests in Acid Reflux Disease, Constipation, Hepatitis C, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Ulcerative Colitis. Dr. Fiedler is conversationally fluent in Spanish and is now accepting patients at her new location with Putnam Gastroenterology.
